Condenser cleaning can be done at home by yourself, as long as it is done correctly.
"The car engine must be cold, okay, then remove the condenser and if possible have it sprayed with water to clean it," said Edy Chandra, owner of AC Graha workshop in Cibubur Point, Depok.
A condenser is usually located in front of the radiator, in the part that is directly exposed to outside air.
The first step in cleaning, spray the condenser surface with clean water to remove dust and light dirt.
After that, use a toothbrush with a soft tip or a special AC brush to remove stubborn tartar.
"Keep brushing with a toothbrush that has a smooth tip, or if there's a special brush, it's better," explained Edy.
The final step, rinse again with clean water and dry using a clean cloth or compressed air.
The cleaning process for the condenser should be done every 20,000 kilometers or during regular AC service.
"If the condenser is the same when cleaning it during the AC service at 20 thousand kilometers," added Edy.
A clean condenser will make the heat dissipation process more optimal.
"Yes, for sure, the condenser is very important for the cooling of the AC. If the condenser has a problem, the AC definitely won't be cold," he asserted.
So, don't forget this component if you want the car's AC to remain maximally cold.
