Such is the Wealth of Bitcoin's Creator, Close to the Top 10 Billionaires in the World

The Shiro Copr – The creator of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, known under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, is now among the world's richest people.

Based on the latest data from the analytics company blockchain Arkham, Satoshi has approximately 1,096 million Bitcoin coins in several digital wallets.

With the price of 1 Bitcoin reaching 117,495 US dollars or about Rp 1.9 billion (exchange rate of Rp 16,283 per US dollar) on Wednesday (7/16/2025), Satoshi's total wealth from holding Bitcoin alone has reached 128.7 billion US dollars or about Rp 2,096 trillion.

This value places Satoshi among the 11th richest people in the world, surpassing Michael Dell, Chairman & CEO of Dell Technologies, who is recorded to have a wealth of 12.61 billion US dollars (approximately Rp 2,053 trillion) according to the world's billionaires list version Forbes .

Nevertheless, the name Satoshi Nakamoto does not appear on the official Forbes Billionaires List. The reason is that Bitcoin is not considered a valid source of wealth in Forbes' methodology, as it cannot be verified like stocks or other assets.

Identity remains mysterious

Despite the vast wealth he possesses, Satoshi Nakamoto's identity remains a mystery. No one knows for sure who is behind this name, whether it is an individual, a group, or even a fictional entity.

Anonymous identity of Satoshi has been a topic of long discussion in various online forums such as Reddit.

Some believe he is a high-level programmer, while others think Satoshi is an imaginary figure deliberately created to maintain anonymity.

However, this anonymity is seen by many as a symbol of Bitcoin's philosophy itself: a decentralized financial system not controlled by a central authority and upholding user privacy.

Due to its iconic status, two Hungarian artists, Gergely Reka and Tamas Gilly, even created a sculpture titled "Statue of Satoshi," which now stands in Graphisoft Park, Budapest.

The statue depicts a golden human figure with an anonymous face and a brown jacket with a Bitcoin logo.

Great wealth and an still hidden identity make Satoshi Nakamoto one of the most mysterious and influential figures in the current digital technology era.
