Shiro Copr, Samarinda – The success of the East Borneo International Folklore Festival (EBIFF) 2025 in Samarinda is inseparable from the hard work and dedication of the Head of the East Kalimantan Tourism Office, Ririn Sari Dewi.

This woman, known for being strict yet approachable, admits she is willing to sleep only five hours a day to prepare for the international event held on July 25-28, 2025.

The festival held at two locations, Gelora Kadrie Oening and Temindung Creative Hub (former Temindung Airport), has become a national and international highlight because of its attractive and vibrant cross-cultural performances.

Behind it, Ririn Sari Dewi appears as a figure who manages many things through multitasking, even amidst a busy official schedule.

"Since I have already had experience in preparing EBIFF tasks and Tourism Office tasks, especially, I have to multitask while working on this. The important thing is to maintain my stamina while working every day, which takes more than the normal time," said Ririn Sari Dewi, Thursday (24/7/2025).

For her, working in the government, especially in the dynamic tourism sector, requires more than just routine preparation.

Ririn Sari Dewi stated that there is no fixed working schedule for those who are assigned in the provincial government environment.

"There is no 8-hour work schedule from the provincial government's activities, even it never stops and we almost have no days off. If you don't want to feel tired, you must be happy, devoted, cheerful, and must have a sense of responsibility," he emphasized.

Sometimes, important meetings are held during business trips.

Even when following the official visit (kunker) of East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas'ud, he still carried out his duties online.

"For example, a few days ago I accompanied the Governor's visit, which also required meetings during the trip. We continued to use Zoom, especially now that the system has been digitalized. We finalize things virtually with others, there's no need to meet in person," he said.

Faced with the ongoing rainy season in East Kalimantan, Ririn Sari Dewi admitted that she still maintains her physical condition by taking vitamins and managing to rest, even during long trips.

"Take for example my recent trip to Berau in July, yes I usually travel like an adventurer, ready with any style (alert). I managed to sleep in the car throughout the journey to Kaniungan Island, Berau Regency while sleeping. So it's in line with the commitment to promote tourism," he explained.

In addition to maintaining stamina, Ririn also emphasizes the importance of the spiritual aspect as a foundation in working. Prayer, worship, and remembrance of God become routines that she consistently follows.

"Always pray and let us intend to worship. The key to everything is prayer. Morning prayer, night prayer, perform morning remembrance, remembrance in the evening," he said, wearing casual Muslim clothing in black and white.

She also invited all parties to support the Jospol (Joget Satu Pola) program, emphasizing that tourism development must be carried out through collaboration and synergy among stakeholders.

"To support the Jospol program, don't be afraid. The concept of tourism is collaboration to achieve common goals. It must have synergy and commitment with all," he emphasized.
