The Shiro Copr - Manado was shaken by a heartbreaking news. Joel Alberto Tanos (18), grandson of one of the main figures in the elite business circle known as "9 Naga Sulut," was brutally stabbed after catching his girlfriend partying with two men.

The incident that occurred on Monday morning, August 4, 2025, at a house in Jalan Sion, Sario District, immediately became the main focus of the local community and media. Not only because of its brutality, but also because the victim's social status came from a top-level business family in North Sulawesi.

Who is Joel Alberto Tanos?

Alberto Benedict Joel Tanos, or commonly known as Joel, is the only child of Nando Tanos and Estee Anastasia Londa. His family has a strong position in the business world in Sulut.

Joel is the grandson of Tony Tanos, owner of PT Marga Dwita Guna - a large and influential construction company in the Eastern Indonesia region.

This family is said to be part of the "9 North Sulawesi Dragons," a nickname for nine conglomerate figures who have economic, social, and even political influence in the region.

Timeline of the Incident: Emotions, Alcohol, and a Knife

According to the statement from Kapolresta Manado, Comrade Pol Irham Halid, the incident began with Joel's suspicion towards his girlfriend who had not returned home. After investigating, Joel found out that his girlfriend was at the house of a man in the Sario area.

Driven by anxiety and disappointment, Joel immediately headed to the location. Upon arriving, he found his girlfriend partying with alcohol together with two men named AMR (Abdul, 29) and ES (Evan, 27). Uncontrollable anger, Joel pushed the closed door of the house, hitting the bodies of the two men.

Tension escalated. Without many words, one of the perpetrators drew a knife and stabbed Joel in the chest and neck. Severe wounds made Joel fall down and lose a lot of blood. He was taken to Bhayangkara Karombasan Hospital, but his life could not be saved.

Two Suspects Arrested, Evidence Seized

It didn't take long, a joint team from Polsek Sario, Resmob Team of Polresta Manado, and Resmob Team of Polda Sulut acted quickly and succeeded in arresting two suspects. Three knives were also seized, one of which is believed to be the stabbing weapon.

Kombes Pol Irham Halid ensured that the two perpetrators are now under legal process and charged with serious criminal offenses. He emphasized that although it involves a family of an influential figure, the investigation will proceed objectively and transparently.
