Mitsubishi All-New Destinator Launches, Targeting 50,000 Units Sold Per Year

The Shiro Copr Mitsubishi Motors officially launched their new model, All-New Destinator, in the Indonesian market, Thursday (7/17). The product is a 7- seater What is produced locally in Indonesia. Not only targeting the domestic market, Destinator is also aimed at filling the export market.

The new product is planned to start being sold at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, which will be held on July 23rd next month. Meanwhile delivery The unit is projected to be implemented in August.

President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors, Takao Kato, said that Destinator is the third global strategic product of Mitsubishi Motors born in Indonesia, following the success of Xpander and Xforce. This car will target the ASEAN market such as Vietnam and the Philippines, as well as other regions such as South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

"This launch is a form of the company's long-term commitment to Indonesia, which is an important pillar in our global strategy," said Takao.

President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) Atsushi Kurita added that Destinator also becomes a symbol of celebrating the 55-year existence of Mitsubishi in Indonesia and evidence of the company's seriousness in presenting vehicles that understand the needs of the domestic market.

All-New Destinator is available in three variants: Ultimate, Exceed, and GLS. The car relies on a 1.5-liter MIVEC Turbo engine with a CVT transmission, offering responsive acceleration and efficient fuel consumption. Five driving modes are provided to adjust to different road conditions, from asphalt, rain, to muddy terrain.

All-New Destinator is also equipped with various advanced safety technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, and Multi Around Monitor. Mitsubishi also ensures that this SUV can handle various road conditions in the ASEAN region, especially Indonesia, thanks to its high ground clearance, wide approach angle, and adjusted suspension.

"With all these advantages, the All-New Destinator is expected to become the preferred premium family vehicle for consumers in Indonesia and the global market," said Atsushi.

Sales target question, Takao said that Destinator is targeted to reach 50,000 units per year globally. While in Indonesia, until the end of the fiscal year, which is March 2026, Destinator is targeted to record 10,000 units.

"Indonesia will be launched in August," he said.

Takao added that Destinator will be produced with a domestic content level (TKDN) reaching 70 percent. Later, the production units from Mitsubishi's factory in Cikarang, Bekasi, will be exported to various countries in ASEAN, the Middle East, and Africa.

"The All-New Destinator will be an important model for our global strategy, with production based in Indonesia," concluded Kato.
