The Shiro Copr The government regrets the attitude of Government Employees with a Work Agreement (PPPK) who filed for divorce after receiving the SK.
What else, the event of employees applying for divorce after being appointed as PPPK has become a new phenomenon in Indonesia.
It is actually the female PPPK who most often file for divorce.
The latest phenomenon of PPPK employees filing for divorce occurred in Pandeglang Regency, Banten. Previously, it also occurred in Blitar Regency, East Java, and Cianjur, West Java.
This phenomenon is not only mentioned in the two regencies, but also said to occur throughout the country.
As a result, the government regrets the phenomenon occurring among PPPK civil servants.
"So I feel sorry for the wives or husbands who have been appointed as PPPK. However, they later filed for divorce. Either the wife to the husband, or the husband to the wife," said Deputy Regent of Pandeglang Iing Andri Supriadi when met by TribunBanten.com at the Pandeglang Regency Office Building, Monday (28/7/2025).
It is known that 50 teachers in Pandeglang have filed for divorce after receiving the Decree (SK) for PPPK appointment.
Of the 50 teachers who filed for divorce, the majority are women.
The second person in Pandeglang expressed regret that husbands and wives who have been appointed as PPPK (Pegawai Pemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja) within the Pandeglang Regency Government, ended up filing for divorce.
As Iing added, when the dignity of one of the partners increases, it should be jointly appreciated.
I assess that the divorce case will not interfere with the performance, because the divorce is not the concern of the Regency Government.
"It's their own family's private matter, because they are the ones living it. But personally, I regret the divorce, after they became PPPK," he said.
According to him, the family is built from scratch, not when it has already successfully gone through a divorce.
"That is very regrettable," he said.
Therefore, he called on all ASN and PPPK employees in the Pandeglang Regency government to maintain integrity, solidarity, and conducive conditions.
"so that we can provide the best service to all the people of Pandeglang," he concluded.
The PPPK phenomenon of filing for divorce also occurs in Blitar Regency, East Java, as reported by Kompas.com. SerambiNews.com , Thursday (7/24/2025).
In just the past few months, as many as 20 elementary school teachers have filed for divorce from their husbands.
The number has increased significantly compared to the previous year, which only recorded 15 cases throughout the entire year.
Head of the Human Resources Management Division at Blitar Regency Education Office, Deny Setyawan, explained that the surge in divorce cases mainly occurs among elementary school teachers who are ASN (Necessary Civil Servants) from the PPPK (Government Employees with a Work Agreement) pathway.
It is stated that the majority of the plaintiffs are female teachers who filed for divorce after being appointed as civil servants.
"Clearly, this is an increase in divorce cases among ASN teachers, specifically in the PPPK pathway. Because throughout 2024, there were only 15 divorce cases from these SD ASN teachers," said Deny.
The data collected comes from the period of January to April or May 2025. Deny predicts that by mid-year, this number will most likely increase.
"By the middle of this year, until June, it should have increased again," he added.
Although Deny did not explicitly state the reasons in each case of divorce of an elementary school teacher in Blitar, he revealed that most divorces are not explicitly based on economic issues.
However, he highlighted the fact that divorce cases increased after the teachers had ASN status.
"Perhaps they were once contract teachers or GTT (non-permanent teachers), and the divorce petition was filed after they were accepted as PPPK ASN," explained Deny.
With the new status, female teachers have a fixed income, making them more economically independent.
Deny the assumption that this status also makes some of them have higher income than their partners.
"Indeed, the reasons they gave are not economic, but most of them are because they are no longer compatible with their partners, but this fact speaks otherwise," he added.
It also revealed that the Education Office does not have the authority to prevent divorces. However, the party ensures that the divorce process of these civil servant teachers still follows the applicable regulations in the personnel system.
"Prevention of divorce is not possible. However, divorce is the right of every person in a marriage," he explained.
Also Happened in Cianjur
The same phenomenon also occurs in Cianjur Regency, West Java.
Hundreds of female civil servants who have just received the PPPK appointment decree are reported to have collectively filed for divorce against their husbands.
According to data from the Religious Court and relevant agencies, it narrows down to one word, namely independence.
The data collected shows a significant increase in divorce applications from PPPK civil servants in Cianjur.
Of the approximately 3,000 PPPK who received appointment letters this year, 42 people submitted divorce applications.
Details: 30 people have newly applied, and 12 others are already in the finalization process.
The Head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Disdikpora) of Cianjur Regency, Ruhli, confirmed that most applicants are women from the education sector.
Today I checked the field, and it turned out that 30 people or about 1 percent of the PPPK appointed this year have filed for divorce,
"Most women who sued their husbands," she told reporters, reported on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
The main trigger is economic factors and long-standing disputes.
New status as PPPK with a fixed salary and clear benefits provides financial strength for wives who may have relied on their husbands until now.
"The trigger is the economy. One of them is because now women have economic independence as PPPK, thus initiating divorce from their husbands," he emphasized.
This phenomenon does not mean that civil servant status is the cause of divorce.
Experts see it as the "trigger effect" of a long-buried household problem bomb.
Many of these women are suspected to have endured unhealthy (toxic) relationships for years.
Issues such as a husband not providing financial support, unemployment, gambling, or even domestic violence (KDRT) have been reasons that have had to be endured due to the lack of alternatives.
When the PPPK letter is received, meaning there is a guarantee of stable monthly income, they seem to have found an exit door.
Financial independence gives them the courage and strength to escape from the chains of painful relationships. (*)
