NEWS GARUT - In an increasingly challenging economic situation, many people are trapped in online loans (pinjol) and experience payment failures (galbay) or arrears.
Not a few of them are haunted by the fear of debt collectors (DC) coming to their home or workplace.
Through the Jamal Official Vlog YouTube channel, the expert Abah Jamal shared guidance and wise views on dealing with this situation.
When Do Debt Collectors from Online Loans Come to the House?
Pak Jamal explained that not all loan apps will send debt collectors to the house.
Their presence depends on whether the application party still has active field staff and complete customer data.
Usually, before a physical visit, users will receive various warning messages through WhatsApp, ranging from gentle warnings to threats that will come in 15-30 minutes.
"All of that is just psychological intimidation. Don't panic immediately. They are only trying to weaken our mentality," said Abah Jamal.
Debt Collector Is Not to Be Feared
According to Abah Jamal, if debt collectors really come to the house, face them calmly and politely.
This is actually an opportunity to learn how to face uncomfortable situations directly.
"They came not to hurt. They are just doing their duty. So welcome them well. Even, if possible, offer them a glass of cold water. Mutual respect is better than mutual hostility," he explained.
They emphasized that the debt collectors are also ordinary people. There is no need for excessive fear.
If they behave politely, respond politely. However, if they come with arrogance or intimidation, the community has the right to close the door or record the incident as a form of legal protection.
She said that the more often a person faces this situation calmly, the smaller the fear will be in the future.
"Once you dare to meet a debt collector, the next time and onwards you will not be afraid. Don't keep hiding. On the contrary, by avoiding, you become weaker," he said.
She also urged the public to stop asking unproductive questions such as "when exactly will they arrive," or "which cities are prone to be visited."
What is more important is how to prepare oneself mentally and spiritually.
The presence of debt collectors does not need to be feared excessively. As long as they act according to procedures, the community should also remain calm and maintain a composed attitude.
However, if there are inhumane or illegal actions, the community has the right to protect itself in a legal manner.
"Riba is an enemy. But that doesn't mean you have to be afraid of the usurer. Rise up, face it, and strengthen yourself to migrate and free yourself from the grip of riba," ended Abah Jamal. ***
