According to Bloomberg data at 09.00 WIB, the rupiah weakened 0.19% to Rp16,229 per US dollar. Meanwhile, the US dollar index strengthened 0.04% to 98.20.
Meanwhile, other Asian currencies opened mixed, with the Japanese yen rising 0.10%, the Singapore dollar weakening 0.06%, the Taiwan dollar weakening 0.17%, and the South Korean won weakening 0.14%.
Then the Philippine peso weakened 0.17%, the Indian rupee strengthened 0.24%, the Chinese yuan weakened 0.04%, the Malaysian ringgit weakened 0.14%, and the Thai baht weakened 0.13%.
Previously, Currency and Commodity Observer Ibrahim Assuaibi predicted that the rupiah would close stronger in the range of Rp16,120-Rp16,180 per US dollar today.
Indonesia's Central Bank Governor Perry Warjiyo previously ensured that his institution will continue to stabilize the rupiah exchange rate in accordance with fundamentals, mainly through interventions in Non-Deliverable Forward (NDF) transactions in foreign markets as well as spot transactions and Domestic Non-Deliverable Forward (DNDF) in the domestic market.
This strategy will be accompanied by the purchase of Government Securities (SBN) in the secondary market to maintain financial market stability.
Meanwhile, according to Reuters, the dollar index rose 0.31% to 98.122, as geopolitical tensions increased after US President Donald Trump promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Washington would guarantee Kyiv's security in any peace agreement with Russia.

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) set the buying rate for US dollars at Rp16,235 and the selling rate at Rp16,255 at 09:40 WIB based on e-rate.
According to TT Counter, the buy and sell prices for the US dollar are set at Rp16,070 and Rp16,370 respectively. According to Bank Notes, BCA also applies a buy price of Rp16,070 per US dollar and a sell price of Rp16,370 per US dollar.
US Dollar Buying and Selling Course at BRI Today
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) set the buy and sell rates for US dollars at 09:36 WIB, each amounting to Rp16,225 and Rp16,252 for e-rate.
Meanwhile, the buy and sell rates of the US dollar at TT Counter were set at Rp16,150 and Rp16,350 respectively until the same time.
USD Buying and Selling Rate at Bank Mandiri Today
PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) set the buy and sell rates for US dollars at 09.09 WIB for special rates, each amounting to Rp16,195 and Rp16,225 respectively.
According to TT Counter, Bank Mandiri set the buy rate per US dollar at Rp15,925 and the sell rate at Rp16,275. These figures refer to the update at 10:03 WIB.
In addition, according to Bank Notes with the latest update at 09.32 WIB, the buy and sell prices per US dollar are set at Rp15,975 and Rp16,325 respectively.
USD Buying and Selling Rate at BNI Today
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) set the buy rate for US dollars at Rp16,234 and the sell rate at Rp16,249 at 10:05 WIB based on special rates.
Meanwhile, according to TT Counter at the same time, the US dollar value for buying was at Rp16,090 and selling at Rp16,370. The same figures applied according to Bank Notes at 09:35 WIB.
