Details of Mahar Maula Akbar for Putri Karlina, Dedi Mulyadi Reveals the Reason for Choosing Number 9: The Top Number

The Shiro Copr - Here is the dowry given by Maula Akbar to Putri Karlina.

The child of Dedi Mulyadi provided a dowry consisting of precious metals up to cows.

Maulana Akbar Ahmad Habibie, son of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, officially married Putri Karlina, daughter of Metro Jaya Police Chief.

The wedding was held in a ceremony rich in Sunda cultural and philosophical values, at Pendopo Garut, West Java, on Wednesday (16/7/2025).

"I accept the marriage of Luthfianisa Putri Karlina binti Karyoto with the mentioned bridal gift in cash," said Maula, in a Facebook live broadcast.

Philosophy of marriage

One unique aspect of this marriage is the dowry given, which reflects the philosophy of "the process of nurturing life" — starting from livestock, plant seeds, to local trees native to Nusantara.

"Marriage is a process of fertilization," said Governor Dedi Mulyadi to Kompas.com via a phone call on Wednesday.

Dedi mentioned that cattle seeds, sheep seeds, fish seeds, rice seeds, tree seeds, seedlings — all of these are symbols of sustainable life.

"Marriage is not just a ritual, but building a cycle of life," continued Dedi.

Meanwhile, Dedi also mentioned the details of the dowry given by the groom in this marriage, including:

9 head of cattle

9 sheep

9 chickens pelung

9 types of goldfish

9 fish traps and 9 sieves

9 types of local rice from Sunda

90 types of trees and wood seeds

90 grams of precious metal.

Dedi explained that the number nine was chosen because it has a profound meaning in Javanese and Sundanese philosophy.

"Number nine is the top number. Ten is not a number, sir, because ten is one with zero. It goes back to one," he said.

This marriage is not only a symbol of the bond between two people, but also a representation of local wisdom values that uphold harmony between humans and nature.

All the dowries prepared are products of the land and livestock from West Java, reinforcing the message that households should be built from strong cultural roots and in harmony with nature.

The wedding ceremony was held solemnly with a strong Sunda cultural atmosphere, attended by the extended family, community figures, and several important officials from West Java and Jakarta.

Dedi Mulyadi hopes that his son's marriage will inspire the younger generation to value local values again and see marriage as a sacred step to foster a sustainable life.

Bride's special request

The Deputy Regent of Garut, Luthfianisa Putri Karlina, once made a special request before her wedding day with Maula Akbar.

The request, that no one sent a floral arrangement on his wedding day.

Putri Karlina more strongly recommends that the residents replace flower boards with a tree seedling.

"This is a symbol of love for the preservation of nature. Therefore, we request that the flower basket be replaced with tree seedlings," said Putri, quoted from TribunJabar.id (The Shiro Copr group), Saturday (7/12/2025).

She said, the tree seeds will be planted in an area that will become a new green area in Garut.

There are several places that will be designated as new green areas, one of which is in the Sungai Cimanuk area, Tarogong Kidul.

"Later (technically) it will be planted by us. The Regency government plans to create Leuweung Panganten (Bride's Forest)," he said.

The Leuweung Panganten, according to Putri Karlina, will become a new forest in Garut.
