Khamenei calls Israel's actions "a great mistake" and warns that US military intervention will lead to irreversible consequences.
Tensions escalated after Israel launched a large-scale air attack on military facilities, with reports indicating that nuclear sites in Iran were also hit, destroying over 200 targets including scientists and top Iranian commanders.
In response, Iran launched more than 150 ballistic missiles and 100 drones into Israeli territory, with some reaching Tel Aviv despite many being intercepted by Israel's defense systems.
Khamenei warned that if the US gets involved, Iran will consider it directly responsible for any widespread damage and will respond forcefully.
Previously, President Trump urged Iran to surrender "unconditionally," and signals of US support for Israel also fueled tensions. However, the White House has not yet decided whether it will officially intervene.
The presence of U.S. aircraft carrier and destroyer in the Middle East has been confirmed as a form of "alert," while military support for Israel continues to be a focus of global attention.
In his speech, Khamenei also condemned the economic and diplomatic pressure from the US-Israel, emphasizing that Iran remains steadfast and will not submit to sanctions.
Not only that, Khamenei declared that Iran will continue to strengthen its nuclear activities, as long as they are for peaceful purposes even if facing additional sanctions.
This harsh comment adds to concerns that the conflict between Israel and Iran could escalate into a wider regional conflict, especially if the US is truly involved.
Meanwhile, several European countries continue to urge de-escalation and UN diplomatic review, threatening to convene an emergency session to prevent the war from spreading.
