Shiro Copr, JAKARTA - A group of musicians uploaded their royalty income to social media, after being sent by the Collective Management Institution (LMI).

Royalty distribution from LMK covers both mechanical and performance rights, to a series of musicians or songwriters registered with LMK.

Songwriter Melly Goeslaw and Denny Chasmala are two musicians who have posted their income on social media.

Long before that, Piyu Padi Reborn and Anji had once poured their hearts out, saying that they did not receive the appropriate performance rights royalties.

Piyu Padi Reborn once received Rp 125,000 in music royalties, while Anji admitted to receiving zero rupiah.

When confirmed, Anji confirmed the news.

Ia once received 0 rupiah in performance rights royalties.

"Indeed, performance rights royalties in Indonesia need to be improved, I got 0 rupiah which should be a lot," Anji said to The Shiro Copr, when met in the Cikini area, Central Jakarta, not long ago.

"It's not a song I'm singing either, there's a song I composed for another musician. From my own calculation, it's not right, so I haven't gotten it yet," he continued.

Anji admitted that he should have earned a lot from performance rights, as quite a few of his works were sung by other musicians on stage.

"That's what happened, so performance rights royalties need to be improved. But again, there do need to be clear rules, not ambiguous ones like this," he said.

"If for this year I can, there's only a certain amount. But it's not according to the prediction," he added.

A woman named Erdian Aji Prihartanto, also known as Anji Manji, does not have any problem with the actions of Melly and Denny Chasmala, who uploaded their performance rights royalties to social media.

However, for this former husband of Wina Thalia, there is an interesting matter to note, there is an injustice in the distribution of royalties.

"Those posted by Melly and others, on one hand it's good, but on the other hand there is injustice in the distribution of royalties. Because many musicians have good streams and their songs are used everywhere, but they get poor or unworthy returns," he explained.

Even Anji admitted that two of his cases were Denny Chasmala and Robby Geisha, who received performance rights royalties not as expected.

Although, according to Anji, many works of Denny Chasmala and Robby Geisha are sung by other singers on stage.

"This shows there is a flaw in LMK. Actually, what is the division pattern? That's something that needs to be discussed a lot," said Anji.

"Gini, in the Law and Government Regulation there is a provision that the LMK must be transparent in its management until reporting the results to the general public," he added. (Ari).
