The presence of the man, who is affectionately called Gus Qowim, attracted special attention from the participants and audience.
At the Walikota Cup event this time, a thrilling match took place between SMPN 3 Kediri and SMPN 9 Kediri, competing for a position in the top four.
Meanwhile, in the Afif Cup U40 tournament, PSCB team faced No Profile FC, in a match full of enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Gus Qowim gave high appreciation for the implementation of the tournament, especially for the 40 years old and above (U40) category, which was held for the first time in Kediri City.
"This activity is remarkable, as this U40 football tournament is being held for the first time in Kediri City. Seeing the community's enthusiasm and the participants' spirit, I hope this event can become an annual agenda," he said.
She added that the spirit of sports should be maintained at all ages. According to her, tournaments like this are not only a competition venue, but also a medium to build fitness and togetherness among the community.
"The government strongly supports such activities because they align with the spirit of making the community active and popularizing sports. Regardless of age, people must remain active and exercise," continued Gus Qowim.
Gus Qowim admitted to being impressed by the performance of the senior players who remained agile and energetic. He mentioned that this is a clear evidence that sports are inclusive.
"This proves that sports are not about age, but about passion and commitment to a healthy life," he said.
