The news was confirmed by the Chairman of the Indonesian Ojol Driver Association, Raden Igun Wicaksono.
"Tomorrow at 14.00 WIB at the Monas Horse Monument Roundabout," said Igun when contacted by Bisnis on Sunday (20/7/2025).
Igun said the action would involve about 50,000 driver ojol two-wheeled (ojol), online car drivers (R4), to online couriers.
They also include workers, laborers, students, and micro, small, and medium business people (UMKM) who are affected by the conditions of online transportation, will also take to the streets.
Igun said that their service users Online ojek , online taxis, and courier services to adjust activity plans on the day of action, as most drivers will go on a mass strike.
She explained that the protest action was a form of accumulated frustration among drivers towards the government, which is seen as not following up on their demands since the peaceful demonstration on May 20, 2025, and the hearing (RDP) with the V Commission of the DPR RI.
"Aksi 217 will be bigger than previous actions as a form of accumulated dissatisfaction from online drivers and couriers towards the Ministry of Transportation and the Minister of Transportation representing the government and President Prabowo, who have not been firm and responsive, allowing the issues from previous demands to be delayed for too long, even making an unproductive decision, namely increasing the ojol fee by up to 15%," said Igun.
In addition, Igun said the action was taken because so far there has been no concrete follow-up from the government or the relevant application providers regarding the five main demands that they have considered ignored.

Igun said that if there is no concrete response from the government in the near future, Igun ensures that similar actions will continue nationwide until the end of the year.
"If the Minister of Transportation and President Prabowo Subianto do not respond to our demands, the 217 Action will not be the last one. From August to December 2025, we will carry out mass actions in waves throughout Indonesia with various online driver alliances across Nusantara," said Igun.
