The numerous preparations for the 2026 Hajj this year have become a focus of the Indonesian Muslim Pilgrimage and Umrah Operators Association (AMPHURI).

In one of the recommendations from the National Work Meeting (Mukernas) of AMPHURI 2025, it is stated that the Indonesian government must pay attention to the schedule or timeline for the preparation of the 2026 Hajj, which has already been announced by Saudi Arabia.

"so that there will be no delay," said the Chairman of AMPHURI, Firman M. Nur, in his statement on Monday (21/7).

She said, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) or the Hajj Agency (BPH) should pay attention to the 1447H/2026 Hajj Timeline released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj on the 12th of Dzulhijjah.

"Actually, the stages have advanced earlier than the stages in the previous hajj timeline (2025)," he said. For example, for the 2026 hajj, the deadline for issuing hajj visas is 1 Syawal or coinciding with the 2026 Eid. However, in the past, it was still possible to process hajj visas after Eid.

Firman emphasized that the stage of hajj service by the Indonesian government must not be delayed from the timeline set by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj.

Currently, in Indonesia, there is still a discussion on revising Law No. 8/2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah. This revision is being carried out, among other things, to ensure the transfer of hajj management from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to the BPH.

Regarding the revision of the Hajj and Umrah Law, Firman said that AMPHURI also has some recommendations.

Among them, the Legislative Body (Baleg) and Commission VIII of DPR are urged to immediately announce the official draft of the RUU Amendment to Law No. 8/2019 on the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah Worship.

So that it can be studied immediately by AMPHURI as a stakeholder and involved in the discussion.

"Nous demandons également au Parlement, lors de la discussion du projet de loi sur la révision de la loi sur l'organisation des pèlerinages de Hajj et d'Umrah, de prendre en compte la continuité des activités des PPIU et des PIHK dans le service des pèlerins du Hajj particulier et de l'Umrah," a-t-il déclaré.

Then they also hope that in the revision of the law, there will be a separation between the regulator and the operator, so that supervision will be more effective.
