Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled Died at Age 36: Accident at Age 15, in a Coma for 20 Years

JAKARTA, The Shiro Corp - Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled, widely known as the "Sleeping Prince" or the Sleeping Prince, is reported to have passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

She died at the age of 36 after being in a coma for two decades.

This sad news was directly conveyed by his father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, in a touching statement.

"With a heart full of faith in the will and destiny of Allah, with deep sorrow and grief, we mourn the passing of our beloved son, Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. May Allah have mercy on him, for he has returned to heaven today," said Prince Khaled, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Al Waleed bin Khaled was born on April 18, 1990. He is the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, a renowned nobleman in Saudi Arabia and nephew of the famous billionaire, Prince Al Waleed bin Talal.

She is the granddaughter of the founder of the kingdom, King Abdulaziz Al Saud, and was born from one of the most influential families in the Middle East.

However, his life changed drastically when a tragic car accident occurred in 2005 in London.

At that time, Al-Waleed was 15 years old and studying military education in England.

The accident caused a severe brain trauma and internal bleeding, which left him in a coma for almost 20 years.

The prince was temporarily receiving intensive care in London before eventually being transferred to King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.

Since then, he has been living dependent on a ventilator and shows very little physical response.

One of the moments that went viral was when he was recorded moving his finger in response to a greeting from someone, giving a glimpse of hope to his family.
