The head of the East Java Transportation Office, Nyono, emphasized that the latest expansion will reach Lamongan and Gresik areas, to fill the gap in public transportation services that have not been adequately served so far.

"Route to Lamongan is not just an expansion, but responds to the needs of the community in areas without adequate transportation," stated Nyono when met on Saturday (19/7/2025).

According to him, the corridor used by Transjatim has been deliberately directed towards new routes, so as not to conflict with existing routes.

"If we directly enter the existing route, there will be social friction with the old transportation entrepreneurs. Therefore, we choose to enter areas that have not yet been served by transportation. One of them is Lamongan," he said.

This new route will connect Lamongan Type B Terminal to Paciran, then to Dukun area in Gresik, and back to northern Lamongan.

The route will be connected to the Transjatim Corridor 5, which has already been operating.

"Lamongan is divided between the south and the north. By entering through Dukun (Gresik), the connectivity between these two areas can be achieved. This is an extraordinary transportation solution," he said.

The launch plan for this new corridor is scheduled for October 2025, coinciding with the anniversary month of the East Java Provincial Government.

"Let's make this a birthday gift for East Java. The community needs safe, affordable, and comfortable services," he said.
