This was stated by Jokowi after receiving a visit from President Prabowo at his private residence in Sumber, Surakarta City, on Sunday night (07/20).
Jokowi called President Prabowo's success in finalizing the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) and reducing export tariffs to the United States as an extraordinary step worthy of appreciation.
"Yes, as already stated by the President, Mr. Prabowo, he talked about our agreement with the European Union in IEU-CEPA, and also he mentioned the tariff negotiations with President Trump. I think these are two very good issues," said Jokowi in his official statement.
Jokowi emphasized that the EU CEPA negotiation process has been very long and full of challenges, but was successfully completed by Prabowo, so that EU export tariffs could be 0%.
According to Jokowi, these achievements will significantly enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the European market.
In addition, the similar approach taken by President Prabowo with President Donald Trump also had a significant impact on Indonesia's market access in the United States.
"A more personal approach, calling President Donald Trump and he talked a lot, finally the tariffs could be reduced from 32% to 19%. This is also, in my opinion, an extraordinary achievement. 19% is the lowest in ASEAN," said Jokowi.
Jokowi also expressed his view that Prabowo's success in bringing Indonesia to obtain low export tariffs amid difficult global economic conditions is a significant achievement.
"According to me, there are two big things that we should appreciate, give a thumbs up, and everything is directly handled by President Prabowo, it's very good," he emphasized.
At that occasion, Jokowi also expressed his satisfaction with the direction and strategic steps taken by President Prabowo.
