The Shiro Copr, Solo - Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) changed its logo into an elephant at the Congress in Central Java.

Regarding the change, President Prabowo Subianto expressed his praise.

She said that PSI's step of choosing an elephant as the party's symbol is in harmony with the contents of her heart.

That was President Prabowo Subianto delivering a speech at the Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS), Central Java, on Sunday (7/20/2025).

"Saudara-saudara, I don't understand why the PSI intelligence is so good. So how come this PSI can read the President of the Republic's heart? This is not something I made up. Many people close to me know that one of the animals I love the most is an elephant," he said.

Prabowo also revealed his long-standing love for elephants. According to him, elephant symbols decorate his personal collection at the Hambalang residence.

"if you have ever been to Hambalang, in my library, the symbol is all elephants," he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo recounted his experience when he was still a businessman managing an industrial plantation forest (HTI) covering 98,000 hectares in Takengon, Aceh.

At that time, he was approached by a representative of the nature conservation organization WWF, who requested an area of 10,000 hectares for an elephant protection zone.

Instead of giving 10 thousand hectares, Prabowo decided to submit twice the amount requested.

"The envoy (WWF) came and I immediately rejected it. I don't agree, I will not give 10,000 hectares for that elephant area. I will give 20,000 hectares," he said.

The story apparently reached the ears of King Charles III, who is known as an environmental lover.

The King of England also sent a thank-you letter through the British Ambassador to Indonesia.

"Once I read the letter from King Charles, I conveyed it to the Ambassador. Indeed, based on my understanding, I had already submitted 20,000 hectares, but because of this letter from King Charles, I have decided now to submit 90,000 hectares for the protected area. I have left 8,000," said Prabowo.

Prabowo added that the 90,000 hectares of land have now been processed by the Ministry of State Secretariat and the Ministry of Forestry to be designated as an elephant conservation area.

Furthermore, Prabowo mentioned the increasingly threatened population of elephants in Sumatra.

According to him, the current number of wild elephants remaining in North Sumatra is about 700 individuals.

Meanwhile, in Lampung, these elephants live in the 120,000-hectare conservation area of Way Kambas National Park.

"Way Kambas will also receive special attention," said Prabowo.

In a joking tone, Prabowo said that PSI apparently has had a strong "instinct" regarding environmental issues from the beginning.

"Indeed, it's appropriate that PSI has always been concerned with the Ministry of Forestry, because perhaps they already have an instinct to protect the forests, to protect the elephants. So I thank you, sir, for choosing the elephant as a symbol, and that's also smart, so I have a bit of a weakness when facing PSI now. It seems that PSI has many clever people," concluded Prabowo.
