JAKARTA, The Shiro Corp - Dian Sandi Utama, a member of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), appeared for questioning as a witness regarding the fake diploma allegations involving Indonesia's 7th president, Joko Widodo, also known as Jokowi, on Monday (21/7/2025).
"Yes, correct (checked)," said Dian when contacted on Monday (7/21/2025).
This is the first examination after the State Security Sub-Directorate of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya upgraded the case status from investigation to inquiry.
While the case of Jokowi's alleged fake diploma is still in the investigation stage, Dian Sandi has already undergone two examinations as a witness.
"Third. But this is the first after the investigation," he said.
As for Dian, she briefly explained the origin of the diploma photo of Indonesia's 7th president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), which she uploaded through her X account @DianSandiU on April 1, 2025.
"Oh no, no. I have already explained this many times on the podcast. I also explained on the media that I was not given by Kaesang (Chairman of PSI, the youngest son of Jokowi), I was not given by Jokowi, I was not given by UGM," Dian said when met at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday (19/5/2025).
Dian revealed that the photo was obtained from a friend.
"It was sent to me by a friend. A digital document. It has been copied several times until it reached my hands," he said.
Dian believes Jokowi's diploma is genuine because the photo was reportedly uploaded by the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) social media account.
"2022, it was posted by UGM. It is identical to what was released by UGM. That's why I wrote that it is original," he said.
Previously reported, the Metro Jaya Police increased the status of the case involving the accusation of a fake diploma of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo or Jokowi, from investigation to inquiry.
The elevation of the case status is based on the result of the case examination by the State Security Sub-Directorate, General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Metro Jaya Police, on Thursday (10/7/2025).
"Regarding the first report, where the complainant is Ir HJW, it was concluded in the case title that there were indications of a criminal event, so the case was escalated to the investigation stage," said Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on Friday (11/7/2025).
The State Security Sub-Direction of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police is currently handling six police reports, including one filed by Jokowi. Jokowi's report relates to defamation and/or slander.
Meanwhile, five other police reports are the result of cases referred from the regency police to Polda Metro Jaya. The subject of the cases in these five reports is incitement.
"Lima reports are divided into two. Three LPs have found indications of criminal events, so they have moved to the investigation stage. And two other reports have been withdrawn, and the reporters did not meet the clarification invitation," said Ade Ary.
It is known that Jokowi reported the fake diploma allegations to Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday (30/4/2025). The report was registered with number LP/B/2831/IV/2025/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
In the chronology presented by Jokowi when making the report, there are five names. They are Roy Suryo Notodiprojo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Eggi Sudjana, Tifauzia Tyassuma, and Kurnia Tri Royani.
Nevertheless, the accused in this case is still under investigation because evidence is required during the investigation process.
The State Security Sub-Direction of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police received evidence from Jokowi, consisting of one USB flash drive containing 24 YouTube video links and social media X content, copies of diplomas along with their certified copies, copies of thesis covers, and the approval sheet.
In this case, Jokowi is charged under Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 35 together with Article 51 paragraph (1), Article 32 paragraph (1) together with Article 48 paragraph (1), and/or Article 27A together with Article 45 paragraph (4) of Law Number 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions.
Regardless of that, Polda Metro Jaya is also handling other reports related to similar cases.
In general, including reports involving President Jokowi and other reports, there are at least two objects of investigation, namely defamation and incitement, as well as the spread of false news.
