Day 6 of Operation Patuh Kapuas 2025, 1307 Violations Committed and Helm Still the Most Common Violation
Shiro Copr, PONTIANAK - Joint Task Force of Operation Kapuas 2025 again carried out vehicle and driver identification checks in the area of Rahadi Oesman Street, Pontianak, Saturday morning, July 19, 2025.
This activity is part of a series of integrated law enforcement operations conducted by Polda Kalbar together with the subordinate police units.
The operation started with a morning assembly led by KBO Ditlantas Polda Kalbar, AKBP Slamet Nanang Widodo, and attended by personnel from various agencies, namely Military Police, Transportation Office, Local Revenue Office, Jasa Raharja, and Satpol PP.
In this activity, the personnel focused the inspection on motor vehicle completeness, driver documents, and various priority violations, namely: using a mobile phone while driving, underage drivers, carrying more than one person on a motorcycle, exceeding speed limits, not using SNI helmet and seat belts, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving against the traffic flow.
By the 6th day of the operation, 1,307 traffic violations have been enforced by the officers. The most common violation is motorcyclists not using SNI-standard helmets.
"Most of the violators are drivers who still neglect the use of helmets. This is very regrettable because a helmet is the most basic protection in case of an accident," explained Nanang.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of West Kalimantan Provincial Police, Commissar Police Bayu Suseno, emphasized the importance of public participation in successfully carrying out Operation Patuh Kapuas.
"This operation not only punishes but also educates. We hope the community becomes aware that obeying traffic rules is a form of care for oneself and others. Make safety a necessity, not just an obligation," said Bayu.
Polda Kalbar is committed to implementing operations with a humanistic, proportional, and educational approach.
Operation Patuh Kapuas 2025 will still be ongoing until the end of July and targets various high-risk areas for violations in West Kalimantan.
