The continuation of the corruption case trial in the Pekanbaru City Government revealed another side of the case that involves Novin Karmila.

The Public Prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned Novin's child as a witness.

It was revealed that Nadia has a luxurious lifestyle, including owning a BMW X1 car, various branded bags and shoes, as well as gold and diamond decorated accessories.

In court, the prosecutor also presented screenshots of Nadia's conversation with her mother.

In the conversation, it was revealed that Nadia often asked to be bought expensive bags such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Gucci.

There is no item worth less than Rp 20 million.

In addition to the bag, the investigators also seized shoes and luxury accessories belonging to Nadia.

Among them: LV Runaway, Gucci Sneakers, and Grand LV belts, as well as gold and diamond accessories from brands such as Solomon to Madonna.

In the session, it was also revealed that the account under Nadia's name was used to receive and send large amounts of money. All transactions were carried out on direct instructions from Novin Karmila.

Hakim Delta then linked the pattern of luxury consumption to the alleged corruption crime that is facing her mother.

"Your talent is great, where is your mother, where are you, but you take care of hundreds of millions of money. Be careful, because your lifestyle, your mother has fallen into," said the judge.

Entangled Case of Budget Cuts in Pekanbaru City Government

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has determined four people as suspects in the case of budget cutting within the Pekanbaru City Government.

They are former Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru Risnandar Mahiwa, former Secretary of the Region Indra Pomi Nasution, Novin Karmila, and assistant of Risnandar, Nugroho Dwi Putranto.

In the prosecution's indictment, Risnandar is mentioned to have received approximately Rp 2.9 billion, Indra Pomi Rp 2.4 billion, Novin Rp 2 billion, and Nugroho Dwi Rp 1.6 billion.

All the funds came from the budget reduction of the disbursement of the Allowance for Supplies (GU) and Additional Allowance for Supplies (TU) sourced from the 2024 Budget of the Regional Government (APBD) and the Supplementary Budget of the Regional Government (APBD-P).

The corruption modus operandi is carried out in a structured and systematic manner, starting from the instruction of budget disbursement, cutting funds by the treasurer, until the distribution of money to officials and for the personal interests of each party.
