The Shiro Copr, SEMANGGI - Residents of Kampung Baru II, RT 03 RW 02, Ulujami Village, Pesanggrahan District, South Jakarta, were shocked by the discovery of an unidentified male body in a swollen and decomposed condition in Pesanggrahan River on Saturday (7/19/2025) early morning.
The head of Pesanggrahan Police Station, AKP Seala Syah Alam said that the discovery of the dead man started from a group of youths who were hanging out at the location.
"Testimony from witness AS that the body floating in Kali Pesanggrahan was seen by young people who were on the riverbank," said Seala, in her statement on Monday (21/7/2025).
He added, the body of the man was stuck in the garbage screening barrier owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government, which is made of grum.
"Since the body was no longer floating and was in the jurisdiction of Pesanggrahan, the witness finally called and confirmed with the Pesanggrahan Police Station," he said.
Seala said, around 03.00 WIB, the body was finally evacuated.
From the initial identification, there were no signs of violence on the victim's body.
"Dead body that was floating, already in a decomposed condition, and from the preliminary identification there are no signs of violence," said Seala.
The victim, when found, was wearing a brown shirt, and the hands were raised upwards.
Now, the body was taken to Fatmawati Hospital, Cilandak, South Jakarta, to perform a forensic examination.

A man identified as MH was found dead in a decomposed condition at his home located on WR Supratman Street, Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang, on Friday (7/4/2025) afternoon around 12:30 WIB.
"The body of the victim is already decomposed," said AKBP Reonald Simanjuntak, Head of Public Relations Division, Directorate of Public Relations, Polda Metro Jaya, on Monday (7/7/2025).
The discovery of the body was first reported by two witnesses, MQ and S, who came to visit the victim's house.
When they arrived at the location, both of them kissed and then smelled the bad odor from inside the house.
They then entered the house and found the victim already deceased.
"Saksi melihat korban dalam posisi tergeletak telungkup dan tubuhnya sudah membusuk," jelas Reonald.
The two witnesses immediately reported the findings to the local Bhabinkamtibmas, who then forwarded the report to Ciputat Timur Police Station and Tangerang Selatan Regency Police.
Police are processing the crime scene (TKP), and the victim's body was evacuated to Fatmawati Hospital, South Jakarta, for further examination. (m31)
