The Shiro Corporation, LUBUKPAKAM - A Saudia Airlines plane with flight number SV-5726 en route from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Jakarta made an emergency landing at Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra on Tuesday (6/17/2025) afternoon.

The aircraft made an emergency landing at Kualanamu International Airport around 10:55 WIB.

This aircraft is carrying 442 regular hajj pilgrims from Indonesia who are part of Kloter JKS 12. They are hajj pilgrims from the cities of Depok and Bekasi.

Here are some facts related to the bomb terror attack on the Saudi Airlines plane.

Kronologi

The head of the Medan Regional Airport Authority Office, Dr. Asri Santosa, disclosed the chronology of the emergency landing of the aircraft.

The Saudi Airlines plane flies from Jeddah to Soekarno Hatta Airport, with an estimated flight time of 10 hours.

The aircraft entered Indonesian airspace around 07:30 WIB. At the same time, an email was sent to the Ministry of Transportation at Soekarno Hatta Airport stating that the plane would explode if it continued to land at Soekarno-Hatta.

"The Saudi airplane, when passing through Indonesian territory, we received information at 07:30 WIB, an email came into Jakarta. There was a bomb threat," said Asri Santosa on Tuesday (17/6/2025).

After receiving the terror message, the transportation ministry activated the emergency response.

emergency operation center (EOC), where the aircraft must land at Kualanamu International Airport, the nearest airport to the aircraft's current position.

Then, the airport contacted Polda Sumut, TNI Angkatan Udara, and TNI Angkatan Darat for security.

"After that, the combined Jihandak team descended in full gear to secure all parts of the aircraft. The bomb threat mentioned earlier has not been found to this day," said Asri.

For the passengers and the entire flight crew have been moved to a hotel not far from the airport.

They were evacuated without bringing their belongings as they are still being checked.

The perpetrator was revealed.

Asri Sentsa said that the content of the threat message uses English.

Asri Santosa mentions that the sender of the message is suspected to be in India.

"It is in English, likely someone from Bombay (India)," Asri told the media on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) evening.

The bomb threat case is still being investigated by the Ministry of Transportation along with the TNI and Polri in Jakarta.

"For details, you will get them later from the Ministry of Transportation because the email (threat) came in there. I am not authorized to answer it," added Asri.

Passenger Acknowledgment

One of the passengers of Saudi Arabian, Otong Zailani, recounted how they were evacuated and exited the plane after an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport.

The residents of Depok said that none of the passengers knew about the bomb threat until they were placed in a hotel in the evening.

The crew informed us that we would make an emergency landing, but they didn't tell us why,

"Then we were immediately evacuated, closely guarded, and well received, and directly placed in a comfortable waiting room," said Otong.

At that moment, Otong explained that all the pilgrims were orderly descending from the plane.

Otong along with his wife, who became a regular hajj pilgrim, has already given news to the other family members at home.

Flown to Jakarta Wednesday Morning

As many as 442 hajj pilgrims from JKS 12 Group, passengers on Saudia Airlines flight number SV-5762 which previously received a bomb threat will be flown to Soekarno Hatta Airport this morning, Wednesday (06/18/2025) at 08:30 WIB.

All passengers will be flown on the same aircraft from Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatra (Sumut).

Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services, Hilman Latief, said that the 442 hajj pilgrims are currently accommodated in 3 hotels near the airport area.

"They (the pilgrims) are currently accommodated in 3 hotels around the airport. And insyaAllah they will be sent to Jakarta tomorrow morning," said Hilman Latief to the Hajj Daker Airport Media Center after accompanying the return of Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Tuesday (06/17/2025) evening Saudi Arabia Time.

Hilman hopes that this situation does not seriously affect the schedule of the following flights.

"Insya Allah the other airplanes will transport the pilgrims to the next departure group. So hopefully this will not affect the rescheduling of the pilgrims' flight," he said.
