The West Java Police Raid a Hidden Casino in Bandung, Seized Rp369 Million and 63 People Were Detained
Chief of Public Relations for Polda West Java, Commissary Chief Hendra Rochmawan stated that the location of this casino is hidden. "Its location is camouflaged by city bustle and serves as a crime scene for conventional gambling," Hendra said at the location on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
According to Hendra, the exposure of this case is due to the efforts of the police cyber team and public reports. In fact, the raid was led directly by the Deputy Chief of Police for West Java, Brigadier General Ade Vivid Agustiadi Bachtiar.
From the outside, this gambling location appears small and ordinary. However, upon entering, it turns out there is a wide open space with a futsal court used for parking cars. The main area is used for gambling activities.
The room inside is quite spacious and has 10 gambling tables, plus one additional VIP table. In the main area of this gambling venue, there is also a small bar and a buffet.
Meanwhile, Hendra also reported that upon entering the main gambling room, cash evidence amounting to Rp 369 million was obtained.
On a regular table, Hendra said, the stakes ranged from Rp 300,000 to Rp 3 million. "We also secured four accounts, 38 phones, 1 iPad, 1 cash register computer, and several CCTV cameras," he said.
In addition, the vehicles used by the gambling perpetrators were also secured by Polda Jabar. In fact, some of them are luxury cars worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.
The discussion was about how long this casino has been operating. Hendra said that it is still under investigation. "Whether it has been around for a long time or is still new, we are still conducting investigations and inquiries," he said.
Hendra also promised to check the legality of alcohol found in the casino buildings. This includes conducting urine tests for those caught in the raid operation.
"While there are two types of gambling here, namely Niu-niu and Baccarat, we don't know what Niu-niu is, it will be investigated later," he said.
Meanwhile, in the VIP room, the building conditions also look good and can only be accessed by those who have a lot of money. In this VIP room, the minimum bet is Rp 3 million with no set betting limit.
In this VIP room, there is only one table. However, the gambling table here looks more premium compared to regular tables with small bets.
A variety of soft drinks and snacks are also complete in this VIP room. There is also a dedicated admin desk.
Regarding the turnover, Hendra has not been able to provide information. However, from this raid, cash amounting to Rp 369 million was obtained. "With that much evidence, one can estimate the turnover themselves," he said.
63 people
On this occasion, 63 people were detained. They consist of 37 employees, 23 gamblers, and 3 people from the gambling management.
Hendra also urges the public to immediately report any suspicious activities in their area. Especially those related to social diseases, such as alcohol and gambling.
Hendra also added that those who were arrested are now being held by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bandung Metropolitan Police to be questioned. They were detained to be questioned further.
"Those who are detained will be processed according to the existing legal facts. The evidence has now been secured by the Bandung Metropolitan Police with the assistance of the West Java Police," he said.
On the other hand, Hendra said that Polda Jabar, following the instructions of Jabar Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, will not hesitate to expose such gambling activities, including those backing it from behind.
Meanwhile, it is known that this disclosure will be further explained by Chief of Police of West Java Inspector General Rudi Setiawan on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in the morning. Rudi is suspected to reveal who the masterminds behind this gambling case are along with the suspects in the case.
