The Shiro Corporation BPKH Limited, the entity managing hajj funds, has directly compensated more than 42,000 Indonesian hajj pilgrims.

Thousands of pilgrims were affected by a lack of consumer services on July 10, 2025 (14 Zulhijah 1446 Hijri), during the peak of the Hajj in Mina.

As of June 16, 2025, the total value of compensation paid has reached more than 862,000 SAR, equivalent to approximately Rp3.7 billion.

The Director of BPKH Limited, Sidiq Haryono, stated that this step is a form of institutional responsibility towards Indonesian hajj pilgrims.

Recovery and Service Standards for Hajj

"This compensation is not just a form of restitution, but also a symbol of respect for the rights of the congregation," Sidiq said in a written statement on Wednesday (18/6/2025).

He said Sidiq, they hope this step will become a standard emulated by all Hajj service providers.

"To maintain the integrity and overall quality of hajj services," he said.

This compensation is distributed transparently and quickly.

This is in line with the principles of justice and accountability upheld by BPKH Limited.

The company has also conducted a thorough evaluation and implemented several improvements.

The hope is to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

BPKH Limited hopes that this initiative can serve as an example for other syarikah and Hajj service providers.

Because the organizers must also take responsibility if there is a shortage of services.

"Rapid and accurate compensation is a manifestation of sensitivity and concern for the rights of the congregation in performing the Hajj pilgrimage with devotion and comfort," he added.

During the Hajj season in 1446 AH, BPKH Limited has been entrusted to manage various aspects of Hajj services, including the provision of ready-to-eat food (RTE).

BPKH also provides fresh meals on the 14th and 15th of Zulhijah, using spices from the Nusantara region, as well as managing commercial areas.

In addition, BPKH Limited also supports the provision of Indonesian culinary stalls and cargo services for pilgrims.

It should be noted that the main issue underlying the compensation provided by BPKH Limited is the lack of or failure to distribute consumption services (food) for some Indonesian hajj pilgrims in Mina on the date of 14 Zulhijah 1446 H (10 June 2025).

This event occurred at the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mina, where millions of pilgrims gather to perform important rituals such as throwing the jumrah.

At this critical moment, the availability of food becomes very crucial to maintain the energy and health of the pilgrims.

BPKH Limited, as the party responsible for managing various aspects of hajj services, including food provision, acknowledges these shortcomings.

Although BPKH Limited has a mandate to provide ready-to-eat food (RTE), fresh meals, Nusantara seasonings, as well as manage commercial areas and support culinary stalls, in reality, some members did not receive their consumption rights on the specified day.

Therefore, the lack of this service directly impacts the congregation. (*)
