Teachers at an elite school in Bekasi resign en masse, treated like domestic workers and ordered to take care of the principal's children
The Shiro Corporation The elite private school on Jalan Baru Perjuangan RT 04 RW 11 Marga Mulya, North Bekasi District, Bekasi City, is suspected to be fraudulent.
A number of teachers at that private school have now collectively stopped working en masse.
A teacher, Salsabila Syafwani said that apparently the resignation carried out by her colleagues has been going on since Friday (June 13, 2025).
This is the result of teachers who were teaching at that school being suspected of being treated like Domestic Workers (DW).
Even the treatment from the school principal, who is also the head of the foundation, makes the teachers sigh in resignation.
"We taught the last class on Friday (13/6/2025), but it was supposed to be this week. However, because of that incident (Suspected school issues), it ended on Friday," Salsabila said during an interview on Monday (16/6/2025).
Salsabila explained that the mass resignation carried out by seven teachers was proven with a paper signed on the spot by all the teachers and the head of the foundation, who is also suspected to be the school principal.
The teachers who resigned en masse admitted that they had no communication whatsoever with the foundation head.
"Honestly since June, we had lost contact, specifically on June 13th, that's when we lost contact in the sense that they simply didn't want to communicate anymore," he explained.
Salsabila said that the information about the mass resignation apparently was not disclosed by the foundation head to all the parents of the students.
Even the teachers are no longer able or allowed to communicate with the parents of the students through the school's email account, which was previously often used as a means of communication.
Given that the school's email account password has been changed, and the teachers are unaware of it.
"We have also lost access to inform the parents (students' guardians) of information, so we no longer know how to inform them about certain things," he said.
Treated Like a Maid
As is known, the reason teachers are resigning en masse is also due to a number of factors.
Among these is the assignment of tasks by the foundation head to a number of teachers deemed outside the scope of their work.
A teacher at the school, Anisa Dwi Zahra, explained that she was asked to buy fried chicken to be given to the child of the foundation owner.
The purchase of fried chicken was also requested from the foundation at a place that is considered to have a considerable distance from the school by Anisa.
"I was also asked to buy fried chicken from a long distance away in Jatiasih, even though there is fried chicken available around here (North Bekasi). I complained, asking why we had to go so far. The foundation side didn't know the reason, so I just went," said Anisa on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Even though Anisa admits to often receiving extra money, she still expresses objections.
"He got money for gas, but he strongly objected because it's far, you know, the distance from here to where the chickens are really is quite far," he said.
Meanwhile, another student named Raihan Tri Wahyudi also emphasized that he experienced a similar fate as Anisa.
Every day before work, Raihan is asked to go to the owner's residence first to drop off at school.
"Every day before I start work, I must go to his house (the foundation owner's) to send their children to school," Raihan emphasized.
Raihan said it was difficult to express rejection when assigned by the foundation owner based on the employee's status with the leader.
Until he admitted that he was forced to do it.
"For additional expenses, I only get paid for the time I work at the office as an education staff, but I mostly work at their house (the foundation owner), which involves taking their children to school, to tutoring, and shopping," Raihan concluded.
Parents are disappointed
As a result of the incident, several parents who were unaware of the information still went to the school to escort their children as usual.
Then the parents of the students who were unaware of it actually admitted to being disappointed.
One example is Nurhaliza (33) who expressed disappointment and shock upon seeing with her own eyes that her child's school suddenly ceased operations without notice because there were no more teachers.
"Meaning my time was wasted, why is this happening, it should have been me on WhatsApp (WA) if there's no more progress in schooling," said Nurhaliza when she was met at the location on Monday (16/6/2025).
Actually, Nurhaliza explained that she only received information via email that her child would come to school on Monday (June 16, 2025) to take a makeup exam.
Because his child fell ill and was then asked to take a makeup exam.
"Last Sunday my child was sick, so they didn't attend, last Sunday there was an exam, and now they're asked to take a makeup exam today, but since the school is locked, we can't enter, even though my child is already wearing the full uniform," he explained.
However, upon arrival it turned out that the school had ceased operations and the gate was locked.
But well, as it is, he couldn't enter the school (because he was locked out), even though my child was already wearing all his clothes,
Nurhaliza said that before being surprised by the suddenly operational school, she had once harbored suspicions about the learning service system.
Suspicion arose when they were promised counseling facilities from a psychologist for their child who was studying there.
However, the fact is that the promise was false or not realized.
"So during the time my child was studying here, I never met a psychologist," he said, according to Warta Kota.
Nurhaliza admits to being very disappointed because the counseling promise with the psychologist was not fulfilled.
Apart from having already allocated time, she and her husband have spent millions of rupiah on those facilities.
"It's already (paid), that's included in the Activity Fee, package, worth 5.5 million rupiah for the Nursery class," he said.
Nurhaliza hopes that the school management can take responsibility by returning the parents' money.
"Responsibility should be on the school's side and they should refund the money that has already been paid. I also still have an entrance fee in this school which has already been paid Rp7,3 million," he hopes.
While other parents, Benny Sugeng Waluyo (42), who enrolls his child who is a Child with Special Needs (ABK), complained about the same thing.
Initially, Sugeng mentioned that he had received information that this school has inclusive learning with a psychologist present.
Until there is additional study time for clinical therapy, and that is the reason why he/she is willing to enroll his/her child in this school.
"But as long as our child has been studying here, that realization has not happened," said Sugeng on Sunday (15/6/2025).
Sugeng explained other complaints, regarding at the beginning, the school will provide a tutor in class for his child to study.
But according to him, the promise was not fulfilled either.
He admitted that he pays Rp1 million every three months for additional supervision.
The number of times my children have studied here, there should be an assistant in the class, but when we checked during the teaching, there was no one accompanying them.
"Because in this school, every class that should have two people (teacher and assistant), but in reality there is only one teacher and no assistant," he explained.
Based on this, Sugeng admitted that he was disappointed because all the best efforts for his child's education were given but the results were futile.
The parents of the students reported this incident to the Mapolres Metro Bekasi City after previously issuing a summons to the school, but received no response.
Very disappointed, the thing is this child has special needs, it's different. As parents, we have to be extra.
But it turns out that the extra things we provided did not match reality and that made us disappointed.
"Now we are reporting the school authorities to the police," he concluded.
