The closure is a follow-up to the instruction from the Mayor of Gorontalo, Adhan Dambea, following the controversy over wage arrears by the contractors building the mall.
Monitoring by Tribun Gorontalo at 10:00 WITA, the usually bustling parking area with queues of vehicles and visitors is now seemingly empty.
Only one large car was parked blocking the entrance to that fast food restaurant originally from Malang.
Far from the gate, dozens of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers were seen gathered on the sidewalk in front.
Some of them admitted to being disappointed and confused because they still received food orders from the app even though the store had closed.

Met on Monday (June 16, 2025) while busy with his threads and needles, Umar revealed how difficult it is to survive in the now deserted market.
Umar explained that his earnings at this market have drastically decreased. He even went without any orders for three consecutive days.
"Always empty here, sir, even I once didn't get anything for three days," he revealed in a melancholic tone.
With four children and one grandchild becoming his responsibility after his wife passed away, Umar had to use his ingenuity to keep the kitchen stove burning.
The money he earns today often has to be carefully saved for several days ahead.
"I sometimes use other money because I know that in three days I won't be getting any," explained Umar.

The Deputy Minister of Village, Disadvantaged Area Development and Transmigration (Wamendes PDTT) Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that the Village Cooperative (Kopdes) Red and White is present as a solution to financing without burdensome conditions.
In a dialogue with village heads and neighborhood leaders in Gorontalo on Tuesday (6/17/2025), he emphasized that this program does not require a guarantee and is not hindered by BI checking.
"One, without collateral. Second, no BI checking issue," Ahmad Riza said.
According to him, this becomes the main advantage of Merah Putih Village Cooperative compared to general cooperatives, which often make it difficult for village business actors in terms of accessing capital.
Kopdes, as stated by Riza, was established in the name of an institution, not an individual, thus allowing for greater flexibility in management.
