Danantara Prepares Rp130 Trillion for 3 Million Homes Program, Where's the Funding Coming From?

The Shiro Copr.CO.ID - JAKARTA Chief Executive Officer of BPI Danantara, Rosan Roeslani said that they plan to allocate Rp 130 trillion to support President Prabowo Subianto's 3 million home program.

Rosan explained that the large amount of funds will be withdrawn from the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) to other state-owned banks such as BSI and BTN.

"I have spoken with all Himbara banks plus BSI and also with BTN, so five banks to provide funding for housing that will be built by Mr. Ara by the end of this year. We have roughly calculated that we can reach approximately IDR 130 trillion," he said, quoting Housing and Urban Development Minister (PKP) Marurar Sirait (Ara), Wednesday (06/18).

Rosan revealed that the financing scheme for housing in the 3 million homes program is currently being developed. According to him, the banks are willing to help with the program because there is a guarantee for the housing financing.

"This financing will also be provided with a good interest subsidy, and we will soon start the process as we have already communicated with Mr. Ara's team to begin discussing it," he explained.

Furthermore, Rosan said that because banking has specific criteria for housing financing, it is hoped that this program will be implemented in accordance with the applicable regulations.

"I am confident that this will have a very positive impact not only on the people of Indonesia but also on all Indonesian citizens who will certainly be very happy with this subsidized housing program initiated by the Ministry of PKP under the leadership of Mr. Ara, we will fully support it," he concluded.

Just for information, among the five Himbara are PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI), PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI), PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI), PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (BBTN), and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BRIS).
