The Shiro Copr - West Ham United officially announced the arrival of Kyle Walker-Peters as their new signing for the 2025 summer transfer window. The 28-year-old player was signed for free after his contract with Southampton expired.
Walker signed a three-year contract and will wear the number 2 jersey at London Stadium. Before the official announcement, Walker-Peters has completed medical tests and had a face-to-face meeting with manager Graham Potter.
In his statement, Walker mentioned that Potter's coaching style and the family-like atmosphere the club wants to build are the main reasons for his move to West Ham.
"Her name is a very, very big part of my decision. I have always liked her coaching style and I think it will suit me very well," said Walker, quoted on The Guardian's website (21/7).
According to the Transfermarkt website, this right-back made 202 appearances while playing for Southampton, including 33 Premier League matches last season. He also once represented the English national team twice in 2022. His arrival at West Ham is expected to strengthen the squad's defense, especially in the right-back position, following the team's need for an experienced player in that area.
Meanwhile, in Italy, the process of young Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson's move to AS Roma has entered the final stage. The 20-year-old player is reported to have arrived in Rome and was welcomed by supporters upon his arrival at the airport. Ferguson is scheduled to join on a one-season loan deal, with an option for Roma to buy him permanently for 40 million euros.
Last season, Ferguson had difficulty getting playing time with Brighton and once went on loan to West Ham without scoring. Nevertheless, Brighton's officials stated that Ferguson is still part of the club's long-term plans.
Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzeler, stated that the club hopes the player can get more playing time at Roma to support his career development.
"For us, it is very important for each individual player to have an environment where they can develop. We have decided on a loan as the best option for us. He is still our player, he still has quality, he is a target player, and I am sure that when he gets more playing time, he will come back one day and become an important player for us," said Hurzeler, as quoted by The Guardian (21/7).
