BMKG: Weather Conditions Cloudy to Rain with Thunderstorms Expected to Cover Most Major Cities in Indonesia

The Shiro Copr - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in Indonesia will be cloudy on Monday (7/21).

The weather in most regions of Indonesia mentioned by BMKG is expected to be cloudy with light rain and thunder.

Quoted from a news site ANTARA and YouTube account BMKG , meteorologist Idhan Abu Bakar presented the weather in most parts of Indonesia which are mostly cloudy.

Some major cities on Sumatra Island that are predicted to experience partly cloudy conditions include Bengkulu, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.

Next, the major cities on Sumatra Island that are predicted to experience thick cloudy conditions are Banda Aceh, Padang, Pekanbaru, and Medan, while Jambi is only partly cloudy.

Then the major city on Sumatra Island that has the potential to be affected by light rain is Tanjung Pinang.

Switching to Java Island, partly cloudy weather is expected in Semarang and Yogyakarta, while cloudy conditions in Serang, then thick clouds in Jakarta and Surabaya.

Moving to the region of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, cloudy weather is likely to occur in Denpasar, while thick cloudy conditions are in Mataram and Kupang.

Bergeser to Kalimantan Island, partly cloudy weather is likely to occur in Banjarmasin, while cloudy conditions in Pontianak, Palangka Raya, and Samarinda, whereas rain with thunderstorms in Tanjung Selor.

Moving to Sulawesi Island, hazy weather conditions may occur in Palu, cloudy in Mamuju, while heavily cloudy in Manado, Gorontalo, Makassar, and Kendari.

As for the eastern part of Indonesia, hazy or foggy conditions are potential to occur in Jayapura, while thick clouds are expected in Ternate.

Still in the eastern part of Indonesia, light rain is potential to occur in Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke.

BMKG also issued a warning about high waves up to four meters that could occur in the western and southern Indian Ocean, the southern part of the Sunda Strait, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The community is also advised to be alert to the potential of high tide flooding in the coastal areas of Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, NTT, and Maluku.
