The incident occurred on Jalan Penghibur, Ujung Pandang District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday (16/7/2025).

Currently, Operation Patuh 2025 is being held.

This 2025 Operation of Discipline also involves the Makassar Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) to check the vehicle taxes of those caught in the operation.

Officers found 90 four-wheeled vehicles with outstanding taxes, one of which is a black Toyota Alphard with license plate DD 1223 RE.

"Because it coincides with the Police Operation, we are synergizing with the Polri, TNI, and Local Government to optimize this regulation," said Yarham Yasmin, Head of UPTD Samsat Makassar 1, to the media on site, reported from Kompas.com .

As a form of deterrent, the Toyota Alphard driver received a written warning from Makassar Bapenda officers.

"We need to intensify education for the community to always remember their vehicle taxes. Because there are many tax debtors here in Makassar. It's pointless to buy a vehicle if you can't pay the tax," he added.

As a result of the action that day, Makassar 1 Tax Office successfully collected more than Rp 90 million in vehicle tax.

Previously, in a similar activity held last week, Makassar Tax Office successfully collected taxes amounting to Rp 500 million.

"This regulation is a concrete form of the government's commitment to raise public awareness about the importance of fulfilling the obligation to pay vehicle taxes on time," concluded Yarham.

Meanwhile, dozens of drivers without driving equipment, ranging from a Driver's License (SIM) to a Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK), were caught in a raid by Satlantas Polres Trenggalek at the Widowati Police Post, Jalan Panglima Sudirman, Ngantru Village, Trenggalek District/Trenggalek Regency, Tuesday (15/7/2025).

Besides regulating disobedient drivers, the personnel of Trenggalek Regency Police, led by Trenggalek Regency Police Chief, AKBP Ridwan Maliki, also provided education to the drivers.

"Today, we are conducting raids and educating the community as a follow-up to the implementation of Operation Patuh Semeru 2025 from July 14 to 27, 2025," said Maliki, Tuesday (15/7/2025).

For drivers who do not carry driving equipment, they will be fined. Meanwhile, drivers who are compliant and obey traffic regulations will receive a pamphlet and a sticker.

" The activity aims to educate the community to be more compliant with traffic regulations, which ultimately can reduce traffic accidents in Trenggalek Regency," he continued.

This operation will be carried out regularly and continuously every day until the end of the Semeru 2025 Operation on July 27th.

For that, Maliki urged travelers to always comply with regulations and carry all vehicle documents.

"Regarding vehicles that do not meet our specifications, we urge them to be equipped according to applicable regulations," he concluded.

Regarding the priority targets of Operation Semeru 2025, they are all potential risks that can cause fatalities in traffic accidents, such as carrying more than one person on a motorcycle, exceeding speed limits, and motorcyclists who are underage.

Those actions also targeted motorcycle riders who did not use SNI helmets, car drivers who did not use safety belts, drivers using mobile phones while driving, motorcyclists under the influence of alcohol, and those driving against traffic.
