Rahmad Darmawan: If in Europe he's only sitting on the bench as a reserve, it's better to play in Liga 1.

The Shiro Corporation Coach of the Indonesia U-23 national team Rahmad Darmawan asked the Garuda team players not to hesitate to play in the Indonesian Liga 1 if they do not get much playing time with their current club, as quoted from ANTARA .

"I think if they have the chance to play in Europe and become key players, they should stay in Europe. But if in Europe they are also just sitting on the bench, it's better to play here (Liga 1)," said the 58-year-old coach.

"Because why? Because the minutes played can greatly influence an athlete's performance towards a much better appearance, even though their competition is considered ordinary," he added.

Previously, newly promoted Liga 1 club Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC was open to recruiting national team players who rarely play and are based in Europe, such as Nathan Tjoe-A-On.

Nathan himself only played once this season in the Championship League for Swansea City, with a playing time of two minutes.

This issue has resurfaced following the expiration of contracts for three national team players who were playing in Europe, namely Thom Haye, Justin Hubner, and Shayne Pattynama, and these contracts were not renewed.
