Indonesia National Team Legend Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto Becomes Technical Director, PSPS Pekanbaru Ready to Play in Liga 2 2025/2026, Aiming for Promotion to Liga 1

The Shiro Corporation - PSPS Pekanbaru has begun serious preparations to face the Indonesia Liga 2 2025/2026 competition. It is known that they have announced the coaching staff lineup, and surprisingly, a big name included is Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto.

PSPS diketahui sebagai tim kuda hitam di Liga 2 musim lalu dan sempat nyaris promosi ke Liga 1. Sayangnya, langkah tim berjuluk Askar Bertuah dihentikan oleh Persijap Jepara di perebutan peringkat ketiga.

The failure to rise in rank under coach Aji Santoso's guidance seems to have become a lesson for PSPS management to prepare the team better. As evidence, the coaching staff lineup was finalized just before the new season.

In the 2025-2026 Liga 2, PSPS is confirmed to be led by Ilham Romadhona as the head coach. However, above him, there is a Technical Director with a prominent name.

That refers to Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, who previously often entered the coaching staff of the Indonesian National Team age groups, and once coached at an Italian club, Como.

With the back-office staff structure considered quite proficient, CEO of PSPS, Effendi Syahputra, also hopes that supporters continue to give their support to the journey of Askar Bertuah in Liga 2 next season.

"We have reached an agreement for the coaching staff of Askar Bertuah for the 2025-2026 season," Effendi Syahputra said, as reported from the official PSPS Instagram page.

In the near future, we will hold a press conference to officially introduce the coaching staff to all supporters and the loyal fans of PSPS.

We are looking forward to positive support and the endless energy from all of us to come back together this season.

In addition to Ilham Romadhona and Kurniawan, PSPS also announced that Ambrizal and the legendary Indonesian national team goalkeeper, Kurnia Sandy, have joined the coaching staff of Askar Bertuah for the new season.

Then, PSPS announced that they will soon design a training camp (TC) scheduled to take place in mid-June in Jakarta.

With all preparations being finalized, PSPS is expected to be able to perform more competitively and maximize the opportunities for promotion to the highest tier of national football.
