As the 79th anniversary of Bhayangkara approaches, tributes and prayers flow in from various figures for Polda Sumut

The Shiro Corporation, Medan - The celebration of the 79th anniversary of National Police Day brought a full spirit and appreciation in North Sumatra. On June 17, 2025, various figures across religions, ethnicities, professions, and communities expressed their congratulations as well as testimonials on the performance of the Polri, especially to the Polda Sumut personnel.

All testimonies conveyed deliver a strong message: The Police (Polri) remains the main pillar in maintaining security, harmony, and public trust. Furthermore, Polri is also considered successful in nurturing diversity, which is a wealth of the nation.

The chairman of the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB) North Sumatra, Drs. Muhammad Hatta Siregar, expressed great hope to the Polri institution. He believes that Polri has played an important role in maintaining interfaith harmony.

"I hope the Polri continues to provide a sense of safety and comfort for all Indonesian communities. Polri for the people," he said hopefully.

Similar support also came from Kyai Ahmad Khambali, the Chairman of Gema Santri Nusa Sumut. He referred to the Polri as a consistent partner in creating a peaceful and conducive atmosphere. "Let's support Polri as the front line in defending the interests of the people, and may Polri become increasingly precise," he said with full confidence.

Appreciation is not only directed at the Polri institution, but also to the Chief of Police of North Sumatra, Irjen Pol Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, S.I.K., M.H. The figures believe that his leadership has brought significant changes, especially in eradicating drug trafficking and thuggery.

This performance is truly reflected in maintaining social stability and providing a sense of security for the community. This is proven by the praise from young activists and workers.

Figures such as Ibnu Hajar, SE (Chairman of BAKOPAM), Indra Haryadi (Chairman of PMI), and Benhidris Nainggolan (Chairman of BERDIKARI Sumut) from among the youth and social organizations expressed their appreciation.

"We highly appreciate the performance of Polda Sumut in uncovering and eradicating drug crimes, both in the region and international networks. Also, the strict actions against intimidation that have alarmed the public. We are ready to synergize with Polri," they stated firmly in a joint statement.

Not to be outdone, religious figures such as Ustadz Wahyu Ramadhan, Pastor S. Hutabarat, and H. Zulkifli Ahmad Dian, LC., MA., have expressed hope that the Police (Polri) will continue to uphold a humane and professional approach. According to them, the success of the Police is not just about enforcement, but also in maintaining peace and respecting diversity.

Testimonies and greetings flowing from various elements of society indicate the high level of public trust in the Polri. At the age of 79, the spirit of transformation towards a PRECISE, accountable, and transparent justice institution continues to strengthen.
