Ander Herrera's Red Card Drama from his Manchester United days resurfaces in Boca Juniors vs Benfica match; Pushed off despite being substituted due to injury

The match between Boca Juniors and Benfica at the Club World Cup on Tuesday (17/6) morning WIB turned into an emotional drama. The referee issued three red cards during the match which ended in a 2-2 draw at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami. One of the most notable incidents was Herrera, who had already been substituted off due to injury in the 20th minute.

However, instead of calmly sitting on the substitute bench, Herrera got involved in a disturbance with the security officials. The 35-year-old player tried to force his way onto the pitch to approach the referee who was reviewing the VAR near the end of the first half. His actions were stopped by the field officials, and referee Cesar Arturo Ramos immediately gave him a red card after being informed of the cause of the commotion.

Herrera looks very frustrated, possibly due to the series of bad luck that has befallen him since joining Boca in January. Just a few minutes into his debut match, he immediately suffered a hamstring injury. Comeback -nya juga didn't go smoothly either, the injury that kept haunting her.

Above the field, the match was intense. Boca briefly took a two-goal lead through Miguel Merentiel and Rodrigo Battaglia, but Benfica responded with goals from Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi. Additionally, two more red cards were given: one to Benfica's striker Andrea Belotti for a dangerous foul, and another to Boca's defender Jorge Figal for a brutal tackle near the end of the match.

Boca and Benfica are in Group C along with Bayern Munich and Auckland City. Previously, Bayern thrashed the team from New Zealand 10-0 without any resistance. Additionally, former Manchester United midfielder Herrera hopes to write a beautiful story again with Boca, especially in the Club World Cup. However, so far he has only recorded a series of injuries, tears, and red cards.
